For the opening title of Full Metal Jacket, I developed a visual process that begins with original frames from the film. The most evocative images were selected and transformed into essential, tactile forms through an abstract tracing process using black ink. A white sheet of paper was then pressed over each print to create an imprint, producing fragmented and unsettling shapes that resemble residual traces. These marks were subsequently scanned and digitally processed, resulting in a sequence of abstract images connected through smooth, seamless transitions. The final sequence evokes the themes of transformation, erasure, and dehumanization that run throughout the film.
